Members FlyfishinOK Posted February 26, 2010 Members Posted February 26, 2010 Has anyone ever fished the Arkansas by the Bixby soccer fields off of 151st? I'm going to several games over there Sat and thought I'd scout around.
duckydoty Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 That is one of the best spots for stripers and sand bass. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Evolution Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 With the water level the way it is, I don't think we'll be able to wade fish for awhile. Hopefully, it won't be anything like last year, with all that running water 24/7.
Members FlyfishinOK Posted February 27, 2010 Author Members Posted February 27, 2010 Where is a good spot to access the river? Which direction from the soccer fields is the best? Looking at Google maps it looks like there are some deep holes along the North bank.

Looking at Google maps it looks like there are some deep holes along the North bank. From the parking lot, head towards the river and you'll see a path leading down to the river. As for where to fish, just start somewhere near your access point and head upstream towards the bridge if you even decide to wade that far.
Members FlyfishinOK Posted March 1, 2010 Author Members Posted March 1, 2010 I went around 2:30 Sat. Started fishing at the old bridge piers and walked downstream. Didn't get a hit one. Next time I'll try walking the other way. Lots of 4 wheelers on the sandbars...looked fun
