Members CollegeFish86 Posted February 28, 2010 Members Posted February 28, 2010 Had a tough day on the rock today. Fished points with timber and wind both deep and somewhat shallow. Only had one bite. Fished jerkbaits, grubs and jigs. Talked to several pro and they either had one bite or no bites as they were getting off the water. I didnt see any shad dying so that made it rough. I did mark some fish but they where in 50' of water. Seems like all the pros I say today where fishing shallow. If they can pull a pattern doing that, more power to them. I fished mainly around the dam and the water temp was 40-43*. It was a little too windy to fish a jerkbait properly for me today. Hope someone else had better luck than me!
Flippin Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 CollegeFish, I did not fare any better. I fished out of Indian Point today from 9:00 - 3:30 and could not get a bite. I fished jerkbait and grubs in 150' to 10' water. My partner threw about everything he had and no luck. The wind really kick up around midday and made it tough. I did see several bait ball and shad dying back in the creek. I talked to friend that went to Stockton today and he said it was a tough day of there as well.
techo Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 But you went......trade you my day of work for your day of fishing! Hope it goes better next time! Tim Carpenter
Jason Essary Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Hea guys, Dont want you to feel bad about having a slow day. I havent had time to go but I went to BPro last night. I heard from Jay Yelas and both Hibdons, and talked with Stacey King for bout ten minutes. Great guys to talk to. Now of course they might have been holding back, but none had found anything that had them at the least bit excited. Most had been around the white of course, but Stacey started his practice around the dam. All said that the fish are sure moving slow and had wished that we would have had a warm spell before getting here. All seemed to be leaning towards the jig. I cant wait to hear who and how these big boys do with the hard fishing on the rock. I havent heard, who knows where and when the weigh-ins are?
