Members poker fisherman Posted February 28, 2010 Members Posted February 28, 2010 A friend just called me and said he lost a Scientific Anglers fly box at Hickory on Thursday 02.25.2010. He was fishing up and downstream from the low water bridge. Box is full of flies with tungsten beeds. He is offering a reward. If anyone has found it you can contact Jason - jasong45@yahoo.com or message me on here. Hopefully it turns up, lots of money and time spent tying flies.
Buzz Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'm going to be over there this afternoon, I'll keep an eye out for it. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ness Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Man -- that's a pisser. Lost a fly box once, and did the math. Even though a lot were self-tied, it was a big hit. Hope he gets it back. Zip them pockets, boys! John
Buzz Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I looked around but I didn't see a fly box. Sorry. I got there at about 4 and left at 6. I was surprised to only see one other fisherman. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
fozzie. Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Boxes are the toughest thing to lose. A rod is expensive but can be replaced in a few minutes at a shop. It takes a while to build up a good selection of flies. I wish your buddy the best. I've taken to engraving my phone number on all my boxes, as well as slapping bright stickers on the drab olive and black ones. Easier to pick out in the brush and amongst rocks. Tom.
