Members UAK squirrelpie Posted March 3, 2010 Members Posted March 3, 2010 Went to the lower Little Piney White Ribbon area today. I parked at the USFS parking lot about 1.5 miles downstream from Milldam Hollow and saw something interesting. It looks like someone took one of the signs from upstream in the Blue Ribbon area and put it down here. I know for a fact it wasn't here the last time I was at this access. Just to give them the benefit of the doubt I checked the regulations (including the new 2010 additions) and the boundary for the white ribbon zone is still Milldam Hollow. Must've been some militant vigilante fly fisherman, ha ha ha. Here's a legit sign closer to the stream that must've been too high for the dope-fiend to reach.
fozzie. Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Good catch- did you by chance notify the folks at the Rolla MDC office? Tom.
Gavin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Guess those signs have legs...No worries, thats area is a local party spot....Somebody will be using that sign to fan their fire once it warms up a bit.

Members mdrstl Posted March 4, 2010 Members Posted March 4, 2010 I was there on 1/16 and am pretty sure there were two signs then, which almost caused me to chastise someone with a stringer. Any suggestions re fishing? Flies to use? Is Lane Spring Campground open? Was the flow a problem? I plan on heading down to the Vida Slab area this weekend. January was pretty productive with light olive BH Wolly Buggers.
fozzie. Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 The area was closed last time I was down, in early February, I'm guessing it'll be closed until warm weather, late March or April. Tom.
