Fished Swepco with Jeb yesterday. Fishing was slow for us, JEB caught one at about a pound and that was it. First time I have fished Swepco since last year and it was slow last year and seems to be slow now. Seems like since they have put that 10 bass limit on that the fishing has gotten much worse, but maybe it's me. If anyone reading this has had good luck on Swepco lately, I would be interested to hear what you used.

I was over there on Friday and had a great day. We caught bass all day off beds. We caught every fish on a green pumpkin senko. I threw the 5" and my buddy threw a 4 ", but we couldn't tell any difference in one size being better than the other. I threw it on 6lb test and a spinning rod. And used an O-ring in the center to wacky hook it. I use a small drop shot (misquito) hook and just hook it under the O-ring. There are visible beds but most of those are empty. The beds that were holding fish were just almost out of sight. We were just looking for any light spot or anything that looked different in the moss. Pitch a senko over it and just let it sink. Never felt a bite all day just had to watch our line for a twitch or see it move off. Almost everything we caught was 2-3lbs with only a couple being about 10". Lots of big fish being caught we just didn't get that bite. Last weekend I talked to a guy who caught an 8lber and another guy had a 12lber. Not sure how they were caught, but I am assuming off beds as well. I think everything we caught were males guarding nests so the big females have probably pulled out and suspended a little farther in the guts of the spawning pockets. Once the senko hit the water we couldn't move it. Anytime we gave it a twitch or pulled it we never got bit. Just had to deadstick it. I hope this helps and you guys get back over there and whack 'em. I got talked into fishing a derby this next weekend, so if I get to go this week I'll be out on Beaver looking around. Gonna go there today I think for awhile and bass fish a little and crappie fish some. Good luck!

On an added note, everything we caught were fat and healthy. The fish look really good in my opinion. Thousands of little 2" bream swimming everywhere so I would say thats they're main forage right now. I kept threatening to tie on a little square bill, but never did. Something like a LC RC 1.5 or 2.0 in a bream color might be worth trying.

Was talking to Chris at Hook,Line and Sinker about this very thing yesterday. I recently acquired a nice little jon and have been wanting to hit SWEPCO.

Thanks for the advice NWA, we were wondering if they were on the beds. I had thought about the senko thing, but never got around to it, maybe next time. But I'm thinking Beaver next weekend also.
