jay bird Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I am setting up a small Bass tournament for some co-workers this spring (10-15 boats). I have been told that I need to contact the coast guard or water patrol to get a permit. This has something to do with culling fish I think. I am having a hard time finding the right number to call to get this done. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jason
denjac Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Its called a regatta permit. Just google Missouri regatta permits and follow the links to the permit application. Has to do with saftey, making sure not too many tournaments or events on one lake at one time. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Looks like there is a link for a Regatta coordinator as well. The regatta PDF document has numbers and address at the bottom. Hope this helps. I was also just informed that you'll have to have a permit from the Corp of Engineers along with the Water Patrol Permit. If you have more than 25 participants, then the Corp will charge you a fee. I don't have any info on the Corp permits. Maybe someone else has that available.
jay bird Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 Thanks guys that is just what I needed, the one for the co-workers is going to be fairly small, but we are planning on one this spring that may be a little bigger and need the other permit. Thanks again Jason
