nxs Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Fianlly got back down yesteray. Water was running 47* to 53* depending where you were. 1- short wally and 1-20" wally 2-keeper crappie and several whites which we threw back. Not nearly as many blacks this trip and the ones we did catch were small. Caught most of the whites up in Beaver and you needed to throw your jig or s/m right to the bank and they'd hit it about a foot out. Probably be heading back to Stockton next week.

I was on up Beaver Creek a bit by Whistle Pipes, just bank fishing. Caught about a 12" Kentucky and then caught a huge perch on an artificial sculpin. Then I hooked up with about a 3.5 or 4 lb Largemouth on a 4" motor oil and chartruese tail grub..he shook off about 10 foot from the bank!! I was crushed. I was fishing the grub on an 1/8oz round jighead. Just throwing it out, letting it sink to the bottom, then begining a slow retrive. I have caught several fish this year and this big boy fought really hard so they are defintely getting more aggressive. Can't wait to hit up Table Rock this weekend! Hope the forecast is correct...it's time to blast some Largies!!! "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
