I have never fished grand and have a small bass tournament there in a month. Any one got any suggestions on areas to fish. Probably spawning then? What kind of cover is on this lake? Does it get real muddy with rain or is it just parts of the lake that get muddy? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Becky

Becky,

I would think the LM will either be pre spawn or spawn by then, but a lot depends on the weather. I'm typing this while sleet pelts the windows, so who knows?

I would look halfway in to the back of the coves. most of the structure on this lake is either man made(boat docks) or placed by man(brush piles).

It takes an incredible amount of rain to muddy up the lake down past Sailboat bridge and Shang-gri-la, above that it will get muddy if there is a rain event in SE KS and SW MO.

Good luck

Chris Farris' answer is dead accurate. I can only add that if the lake is up and in the willows when you arrive, try a big blade pitched into the tangle and retrieved. As it leaves the trees, kill it in case you have a follower.

Good luck.

Back in Honey Creek is always good hitting points and the docks. I have been going there for several years and always do well w/ soft plastics. Power Lizards in a pumpkin seed and also black. I can go out there all day with these two colors and catch fish. You will have to work around all of the crappie fishermen back in there. Whites also start running too.

If you teach your kids to fish, your wife will let you go more often.....

Thanks guys! hopefully this will help me out! Yes, it is snowing here in NW Ark as well. Had a beautiful day on Table Rock with several nice ones on jerk baits and now it has been snowing since yesterday afternoon.

So I would fish it much like the Rock it sounds like.

i don't think it's very similar to TR, but i'm not a super-duper fisherman.

grand to me is more of a crankbait/spinnerbait/jig lake in the spring...

it's much shallower and not nearly as clear
