Members diamond64 Posted March 21, 2010 Members Posted March 21, 2010 Looking to buy a 3wt for Roaring River, any advice on it would be helpful. Rod,reel, and line will be bought all at one time so any fly shops close to the river would be helpful.

He set me up this winter with a great rod and reel line and flies. He will take care of you after the sale and give any advice that you will need.. timsfly Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 7 1/2 to 8' would be a good choice for an all around 3wt. I sell lots of small 7' and shorter 3wts for R.R. fishing. TFO makes some good little rods, I have a custom rod builder who has several 3wt in the shop right now, there is a nice st. croiX in the shop on his rack, and several other brands. I have several 3wts in the shop most of the time. Come by and check out what I have in stock, I might have something that will work for you. I have plenty of reels also for 3wt and smaller rods. Members Capt. Hook Posted March 22, 2010 Members Posted March 22, 2010 I fish a TFO Lefty Kreh series 3 wt. at RR. It is the perfect rod for the park, especially on days when the wind isn't real bad. I think they come in three or four piece models, mine is a four piece. Great rod, I would absolutely recommend it for RR.

Members AZ_Trout Posted March 22, 2010 Members Posted March 22, 2010 I agree stop in at Tim's. He'll get you all set up and then it's off to fishing. I'd even like to try one of TFO's little 2 or 1 wts Be a blast on the newly stocked fish. Thighlines & Singing Reels
