Mike Worley Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Is ANY body using this forum?? I am heading out this afternoon to try to catch a few monster walleyes. December has always been my best month for catching trophy walleyes. Has anyone been catching anything on a jerk bait yet?
Root Admin admin Posted December 3, 2005 Root Admin Posted December 3, 2005 Buster is the pro... just called him and asked- He heard some guys put in at K Dock yesterday and caught their limit(s) using stick baits so the answer is a big YES. Channel banks. And these guys who fished really didn't know what they were doing- so Buster says. Report back!!
Mike Worley Posted December 4, 2005 Author Posted December 4, 2005 I fished Bull Shoals yesterday( 12/3) point 16 area. Caught 25 and 23 inch walleyes on 5" stickbaits. Rocky banks the walleyes were in very shallow water. I think I would have caught more fish, but I had to take some rest time (trolling) after I hooked a 15 LB carp in the tail that took 20 minutes to land (my hand and arm are still sore today) The 25 incher bit at 2PM in less than 5 FT of water.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 4, 2005 Root Admin Posted December 4, 2005 Did you get the report admin (me) wrote before you left? Where did you put in... point 16 would be in Arkansas?
powerdive Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 That's great news...see you guys out there!
tippet7 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I dont have a boat, where is a good place to fish walleyes from the bank? I would assume you could use the same baits? stickbaits, night crawlers, etc? You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 The Pothole, which is below Powersite dam. You can get there by turning right at the second light in Forsyth and following the road to the dam. There are turnoffs below the dam. Or, you can go through Forsyth and turn right on hi way 76 and right again after crossing the bridge. This takes into the Corp's River Run park. If you stay on the road it will go west to the dam. I have always found the fishing there tough, but they do catch fish there. Rogue's or minnows seem the most successful, especially at night. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Wayne SW/MO Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I put my kayak in under the 160 bridge last April and fished the hole there. There were two women fishing with worms under the bridge structure. They pulled a Walleye out that they said was legal, it looked legal from my vantage point. There is access to lower Beaver on Slough Hollow road, which is just east of the 160 bridge. I don't know how good the fishing is, but it gets hit heavily at the whistles. Does anyone know if there is a spawning run up Beaver? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
