I know there's a fair numbers of locals who frequent the forum that fish below the dam (wade) almost every day. Haven't heard from you all lately? Sure would like to hear what's going on up there.

Don't make me come up there and find out myself!! ;);)

Fished Sunday 05/21 from chute 1 to chute 3, 12:00-8:00 PM. Caught 50 fish all on variety of scuds, egg patterns, and sculpins. Caught 4 during running water that evening with sowbug dropped behind a red san juan worm. Saw a guy catch a lunker on south side of river during running water. He yelled that it looked like a salmon. Incredible fog during the evening hours.

Fished Thursday 5/18 6:00-8:30 PM. Ran water all the time. Caught 7 fish with same san juan/sowbug combo. All big fish 13-18 inches. Lost 20 plus inch fish. I guess size 20 fly couldnt hold on at the time.

Sorry for lack of postings, internet is down at home.

Good fishing, Don

Mike and I fished on Monday and did OK. We started up just below #1 and worked down to Rebar. Picked up a few on a red zebra midge and a couple on the Green Meanie (thanks Leonard). Mike caught a couple on a scud. Then we moved down to Rocking Chair for the afternoon. We did Ok there as well. Some midging, some scuds, and I caught a couple on a crackleback. All in all it was kinda slow but steady all day. We didn't catch any good fish though. The big fish for the day was a 15" brown just below #1 on a red zebra.

Also, just for fun I used a yellow foam hopper as an indicator today and caught two fish (little browns) on that. They really attack a fat hopper!!

I agree, the fog sunday was pretty incredible and made for some interesting photos--it was a shame to have to drive back home to springfield and reality. Caught most of our fish on a scud and later on copper colored midges.

Two weeks earlier released a 23 inch rainbow (my biggest at taney) and this past sunday spotted a couple more that looked to be in the 20 inch range. :D

I caught nothing after they opened the gates--probably need some schooling on fishing in those conditions. Any pointers?

I try to fish seams along the banks. I usually use a bright attractor fly such as red san juan worm, copper john, egg pattern, then I trail a small scud, sowbug, midge, appprox 1 ft behind. A little purple flash in the trailer fly has worked lately. I also make sure I have enough weight to get the flies down.
