Anybody else out on Tuesday? (lets here how yah did :) )

-

Crappie fished the Glaize arm out of PB2 yesterday. Got on the water about 9:00 a.m., fished until about 2:30. Found water up near PB1 in the afternoon around 52+. Beautiful day to be on the water with bluebird skys. But those bluebird skys may have been to our problem?

-

Fished brush piles on the main channel for most of the day. Throwing 1/8-1/16 maribous and small tubes in multiple colors, no real color pattern. We only caught a few keepers and not many more dinks. It was a tough day ineeded.

-

Everything we caught were holding VERY tight to the brush/if not tangled in the brush in about 8' of water. All our catches were made on VERY sssssslllllllowwwww presentations. Painfully slow. <_<

-

There were quite a few other boats up there in the morning. Everyone seemed to be making milk runs; so I told myself, the bite must've been tough for others too? Otherwise we would've seen other boats staying in one spot for longer time frames. So maybe it wasn't just us?

-

Oh well, it was nice to be on the water on a beautiful day! :)

-

(As a side not; I did notice a few good size shad having trouble on the surface. We'd disturb them and they'd swim back under the surface.)

I am guide down here so I fish a whole lot. On monday afternoon they moved to the docks real bad. Abandoned everything else for some reason. We hit three spots tuesday afternoon, 5 hours had 2 limits. No big fish but had enough keepers. It was that intense sunshine.

Dang! Good point Jack. Everything we (and others we could see) were fishing were brush piles, nowhere near docks. Guess that would explain the rough go of it. The few keepers we had were just barely keepers. <_<

Just out of curiosity, what arm of the lake were you fishing Tuesday? (water temps?)

Smoked em yesterday!! 3 limits plus a number of 11-12 inch fish. One guy had his personal best, almost 15 inches!! I have been fishing down by the dam, or up the Niagua. The dam area is better. But the Niagua is warmer. It's like low to mid 50's (sunny afternoons) rest of the lake is mid 40's still.

-Excellent! Good day there Jack. I'll be down again the end of this week, so i'm hoping things will be a bit further along.

I'm tagging along with a buddy and his boat this time. He's got a place on the Gravois arm, which is more than likely where we'll be working things over. (fingers crossed) Looks like lots of warm sunny days this week (and warm/breezy a couple dys), it'd be nice if that heats the water, and the bite up for us. :)

jack-

we've been out three times this month trying to find these crappie...with no success. Every time we've given up and switched to bass. Are they tight to the brush? First year crappie fishing so any info helps. We are going to give it another shot this Wednesday. Hopefully the wind doesn't mess things up.

With the warm temps coming this week fishing should be dinamite! Highs close to 80 degrees! About time huh? They have't been in the main lake. To much current, I quess. And they haven't been everywhere, but when you do find em there is tons of them stacked in there.

We have primarily beenteying early in the morning. Is that a mistake? Do crappie wait for the sun to warm the water up? Or should I be finding them early? I really appreciate the help.

Jack would certainly know better than I on this, but my thoughts on this weeks weather and the wind mid-week; I'm excited that will help stir in some warmth and raise surface temps. I hope to be down the end of the week, and am excited about that breeze. I agree, casting light tackle in the wind can be a pain, but if the wind warms the water and gets the fish moving; I'll take it. :goodjob:

Hector, be sure to post a report after you get out Wednesday! ;)
