Members FishinJack Posted March 30, 2010 Members Posted March 30, 2010 Wind is going to be a problem for running around the lake and fishing. You can hide from the wind and fish effectivly this time of the year. Go to the coves that you can hide from the wind. You'll still catch fish just fine. Now going from cove to cove is a differant story. Bring your rain gear. A lot of the times the wind gets worse as the day goes on. so maybe try fishing first thing instead of waiting till the afternoon. The bite itself is an all day bite.

Members Hector Boirie Posted April 1, 2010 Members Posted April 1, 2010 thanks for the help. I'll post results tomorrow. what a day! 30+ fish. 22 keepers. The rest were short bass and small crappie. We worked coves around the dam. Fish were in 20ft. of water. Back of the docks hiding from the sun.
Members CollegeFish86 Posted April 7, 2010 Members Posted April 7, 2010 Are you guys using tubes or minnows? how are you guys fishing them? I will be up there sunday fishing in the gravois arm, any suggestions?
motoman Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Awwww dang, sunday in the gravois arm should be Great! - We were throwing 1.5" tubes in 1/16 and 1/32 ounce weedless jigheads (depending on the wind). Casting them out, counting to about 4-5 when they hit the surface, then slowwwwly reel them in. - I would think the few days of warmer weather might have them up a bit more shallow than we found them; but others would know better than I. (as my info was from last week) - I would suggest getting some minnows as backup. I think they're selling like hotcakes from what I've been seeing. But, they certainly helped pick up the pace for us, when the tube bite was slow.
