Members Golf Pro Posted March 25, 2010 Members Posted March 25, 2010 How does everyone think this rain will effect the lake? I am guessing that the rivers will dirty up quickly. Will this make the fish go shallow, stop biting, move out to the main lake, move into the creeks, etc? You always here about how the fish will move up quickly after a rain like this, is this rain warm enough for that? Would love to hear opinions.
Trav Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 It's cold rain. Won't warm the lakes any so it probably won't effect the fish at all. We need sunshine! Lots of it! "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
T-RockJaws Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We are suppose to have sunshine coming with warmer temps over the next few days!!! The colored water up the river arms will warm faster than clear water which should move the fish up. Fishing should be pretty good by mid next week.
dblades Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Forecast is for lots of sun next week, plus this rain is warmer than the snow run-off, so I'm hoping for a fast warm up of the rising dirty water.
Members Golf Pro Posted March 25, 2010 Author Members Posted March 25, 2010 I agree, I think next week the water is going to warm and those bass are going to the bank. For me it can't happen soon enough. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them get shallow this weekend. I am tired of trying (and not succeeding) to catch them deep. Just hope the weathermen are correct for once and it gets warm!
fozzype Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I think the current coming in the coves and cuts will help move them in these areas. I truly believe the dirty water coming in these cuts and creeks will bring the bait fish into these areas quickly. B. Foz
skeeter Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 In my area around mid-lake the heaviest rain fell when the air temperature was in the middle Fifties. Then the cold front came through and temps fell into the Forties but the rain also quickly let up in intensity and then ended about 3-4 P.M. I think it would be worth the time and gas to explore the backs of coves with wet-weather creeks and full time creeks for warmer run off. Just hope Thurs. night's lower thirties don't hurt too much. Very heavy fog this morning ! Good luck !
