Members Professor Jim Posted March 29, 2010 Members Posted March 29, 2010 I'm relatively new to fishing Stockton and need some help. I've heard of the fish attractors put in by the Corps, but don't know where the "tire farm" I've heard referred to is located. It sounds like a good place to catch crappie most of the time. Any help would be appreciated.
Dutch Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I only know of one place like that but it is in an area where you are not allowed to fish.
Evolution Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 link Might not be a tire farm but Stockton Lake Guide Service was nice enough to add this link from the MDC. It might be worth looking into if you fish stockton regularly.

When they put in the new wind break a few years ago they sunk the old tires. They are located as you idle out of state park past the last covered dock on the right. There will be three or four big buoys on your right like they tie sailboats up to. When you find those buoys the tires will be under you. Dutch Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 That is the one I know about and COE has rules against fishing near commercial docks.
Members KCNitro Posted March 30, 2010 Members Posted March 30, 2010 I was wondering what everyone was fishing in that cove. If there are rules against fishing around the docks they are not enforced. I was there two weeks ago and last weekend. There were probably 20 boats in there each time fishing.
Guest csfishinfool Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 That is the one I know about and COE has rules against fishing near commercial docks. I'm pretty sure only the Arkansas/White river COE has emplimented these rules. I hear that the Arkansas COE sets these rules for Table Rock, anything totally in Missouri you should be fine.
Members Professor Jim Posted March 31, 2010 Author Members Posted March 31, 2010 Thanks for the help and for the link. Most likely I'm going to Stockton Thursday evening and Friday morning. Will try some coves for bass and brush piles for crappie. Being with 20 or so other boats over a bunch of tires sounds too crowded for my blood. Is one area of the lake more productive right now? I'm planning to avoid the main lake to keep out of the wind as best I can.
