lonkm Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Guys, don't get caught whizzing over the side of the boat. Fella got caught and was fined $150.00 and put on the sex offenders list. 3 lb coffee can and a good look around !!
Gatorjet Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 These are very convenient for the purpose. Like the ones used in hospitals, but made of heavier material to be stronger. http://www.tagpilotsupply.com/littlejohnportableurinal.aspx This is a very good price to. Bass Pro doesn't list them, and Cabela's price is about 50% higher. Real men go propless!

Fella got caught and was fined $150.00 and put on the sex offenders list. 3 lb coffee can and a good look around !! First of all, I don't think "whizzing" over the side of the boat is a good idea. Anywhere. I won't get into the politics of what gets put into our waters, but the idea of exposing ones self out there just ain't what an ordinary intelligent person would be caught doing. As far as being put on the "sex offenders" list, what did this knucklehead do? Expose himself to some 13 year old and try to explain it away that he was just "whizzing?" There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
troutfiend1985 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I'm not sure how public urination equates to a sex offense. I would have to see what this guy did in order to know why this is a sex offense. If all the guy was doing was peeing over the side of the boat, then he's getting screwed over. Yeah, don't pee in public, but I've done it before, guilty as charged But really, sex offender? Someone needs a lawyer. Lonkm, do you have a link for the article, if there is one? “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis

I dunno, I've heard of folks being labeled sex offenders after public urination on float trips and at St. Louis' Mardi Gras. May just be urban legends, though. Tom.
Kayser Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 No, you definitely get put on the sex offender list for public urination. Was talking to a cop and it came up in conversation. I think its bull$H!T, but the police tend to disagree. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
MOFishwater Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 It is a bit of a stretch to label them sex offenders. I believe 'round Mardis Gras there was a push to lower the fine or change the wording because its not usually fair to call the vast majority of folks offenders. Lazy, dumb, maybe incontinent, but...
eric1978 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Yep, they WILL put you on the sex offender's list for public urination...it happened to a friend of a friend of a friend at Mardi Gras a couple years ago. You get the wrong cop, you're screwed (pardon the pun). It's ridiculous to equate a desperately full-bladdered person having no place to pee with a sex offense, but no one should be whizzing in our waters. Go a few yards up the bank so it can just wash down to the river the next time it rains.
Gatorjet Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I did a google search on the subject and found many documented cases of people being put on sex offender lists for peein' in public. It is , like so many other things today, dependent on the law enforcement officer, weather or not he sites you for the violation. The prosecutor if he wants to make something out of it. Or the court if they want to punish you to make an example. Bottom line, for the $5 to $10 for a portable urinal, and a little discretion, why take the chance? Real men go propless!
LarrySTL Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Here are links, if I can figure out how to post them, of the Mo Highway Patrol "offenses requiring registration" page and Chapter 566 of the Mo Statutes; all of the 566 offenses must register. I don't see anything that would require registration for urinating from a boat although I think there may be some obscure Corps regulation about "discharging waste". Obviously the coffee can might be a good idea in a crowd. http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/MSHPWeb/PatrolDivisions/CRID/SOR/factsheet.html#offensesRequiringRegistration http://www.moga.mo.gov/STATUTES/C566.HTM http://intervenehere.com
