bjovan Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 fished that area last week end over easter. Fair bite for me I sure someone was catchin them. Caught fish on everthing jerkbait, wart, blade and a jig. couple keeps a day nothing big. I think I was ahead of them a little should have thrown the jerkbait more(but I hate it). They should be on a blade this weekend. Crappie were slow for us and the kids, brought home 12 but had to work for them.
Members freelancer 11 Posted April 11, 2010 Members Posted April 11, 2010 let us know what was working and how things went. If you can let me know water temps in that area. I will be at Hurricane deck area and don't want to run up there without any info. Thank you
Members Deep-V-Fisher Posted April 12, 2010 Author Members Posted April 12, 2010 Fishing was really slow this weekend. Threw the whole box at them and only came up with two bass and a drum. All on crankbaits. The two bass were nearly back to back. Thought i had my all time lunker bass but ended up being the drum. Adam Boat ~ Fisher Deep V 19' Main Lake ~ LOTO

Bman Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thought i had my all time lunker bass but ended up being the drum. Been there, done that, recently. The only good line is a tight line
97procraft Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I fished a small club tournament this weekend. We didn't win, but did catch quite a few. The winner was throwing a blue back bandit 100 or 200 crankbait. They finished with over 20 lbs. I did catch several on a crankbait that were similar, but only one keeper. Most of my bigger fish came on a Green pumpkin and a watermellon chomper fished behind docks. Our crankbait fish came off of chunk rock banks. Did catch a few shorts on a chart. spinnerbait too.
Members freelancer 11 Posted April 13, 2010 Members Posted April 13, 2010 Thanks for all the info. I to hooked a monster in the fall on a wart to only have it be a 20lb flathead.

We have caught flatheads just the same on crankbaits. Crazy how aggressive they are and how they will hit a crank. Adam Boat ~ Fisher Deep V 19' Main Lake ~ LOTO
