Exactly! It'd break my line and we wouldn't get to see the fish!! :)

I set the drag pretty tight but it would still give if it has to. Bruce Johnson told me to never trust a drag so that's how I've fished for 20 years.

I think if you set the drag too loose - if the drag gives when you set the hook, that's too loose.
