polock Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 at some point I wanna come down and be able to keep 4 trout for dinner and not throw them all back, I haven't had fresh trout in over a year, I was wondering were a fella could put in below. also, is anyone having any luck on midges, i didn't have my fly rod with me last time but I am bringing it tomorrow if i come down to taney insteady of taking the kayak out
Gatorjet Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Cooper Creak MDC ramp. Just down lake From Lilleys Landing off of Fall Creek Rd. Take Fall Creek Rd from the strip next to Dick Clark's. Then Left at River Vally. BE CAREFUL, River Valey intersects on a bad curve. There will be signs for Lilley's, Cooper Creek, and I think other resorts. Take a left on Cooper Creek Rd, maybe 1/4 mile. Another left a couple hundred feet if that far. There should be a MDC boat ramp sign. Good multi lane ramp and parking lot. Also a fishing dock. Goog Fishin', Bob Real men go propless!
TroutRinger Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Do you use your kayak on Taney? "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."
polock Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Do you use your kayak on Taney? nope I use my little boat with a 40 horse jet on it.
RSBreth Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 The last time I checked you can still keep fish out of the trophy area, they just have to be smaller than 12" or bigger than 18", at least as far as Rainbows go.

RSBreth Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 It's 20 then, I guess. I don't know, I don't keep anything but the little 10- or 11-inch pan size "eaters". I let 18" (or 20") go back . It's kind of like the trophy Smallmouth areas, I always forget exactly how big they would be to keep, because I don't keep any.
Gatorjet Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Actually I don't keep anything up there for longer than enough time to take a picture. If I remember my camera! I can catch all the "eaters" I want below Fall Creek. Real men go propless!
