I'm still patiently waiting on my 5/6 Alpha and hook offer, but the drag cap was not up to Justin's exacting standards which explains the delay. Patience may be a virtue, but not when waiting for a fly reel.

Finally had a chance to review the Alpha 5/6wt reel I ordered from Justin. This is one nice looking reel & the quality seems to be top notch, the drag seems so smooth with no apparent "breakover" release when the drag kicks in, just nice smooth & steady! I'll be breaking this in on some trout after my Nano TI rod shows.

Well I just received one of "Allen's" new Nano TI 5wt 9' 4pc rods, it nearly looks identical to an Orvis Helios rod & I'll have to tell you this is one nice looking rod. Everything arrived as promised & in good order, the workmanship on this seems very high quality & I can't believe just how lightweight this thing actually is @ 2.6 oz.

Can't wait to try it out soon!

FINALLY had a chance to give the new Nano TI 5Wt rod & Alpha series 5/6 Wt reel a try and I'm real pleased at the weight, action & feel of this setup casting for the most part is a "breeze", and the action is great, as it stands right now (given my current inventory) this will be my go to rod for Taney. When I purchased this I received the promo cost on the reel, the promo cost on the new Nano TI rod & a discount for purchasing both! He later offer a couple of fly boxes for free as a try em' & see if you like em' deal.

After receiving the 5/6 Alpha series awhile back & being satisfied with it AND the Nano TI rod, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase one of their reel/net specials, I thought I'd try their 3/4 Trout series for my 4WT. I placed the order last Sat, they only ship on weekdays,today it shows up at my house well packaged. Another great looking product from Allen FF, the net is rubberized & made of real nice inlaid burl looking wood, again well constructed, I just hope it lands plenty of fish & the fish appreciate their temporary fishnet slicker.
