Brian Wise Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Hey guys, Have been running on fumes lately....guiding a ton so sorry for reports being few and far between. Fishing has been good to spectacular for the whole month of April. If you are planning on coming down and fishing FOR sure have some Rubber-Legs and Caddis Pupa as those 2 flies have been the major ticket lately. A lot of pictures coming but have a cool story to share. I'm sure everyone has seen big browns busting bait fish in super shallow water....and I'm sure most of us try our best to cast to that exact spot where we see that happening.....and nothing really happens right? Well, we found out what happens when a brown is busting baitfish about 15' from the drift boat and one of the anglers has a big nasty streamer on!! This photo was actually stripped from video that was being shot as we landed this fish. We did everything right to get a quick photo....left the fly in it's mouth (just in case the fish was dropped) and left the net under the fish (just in case it was dropped)-----fish was dropped, missed the net and came un-hooked as it swam off. A serious, serious brown that gave us the COOLEST take I have ever seen!! Brian My Youtube Channel
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 22, 2010 Root Admin Posted April 22, 2010 Looking forward to the video!!
flyfishmaster Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Wow! The fish looks huge even from a distance. Way to go guys. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Justin Spencer Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Do I recognize that spot? Great fish, great story, usually what happens when I really want a picture of a fish! How's it fishing from the farm to us? Brian Wise Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 Thanks guys. Fish was caught at the very bottom of Cave Riffle about 1/2 mile below ROLF. Couldn't really roll video while we were fighting it as I kind of had a boat to deal with and only got about 20 seconds of video and there were maybe half a dozen frames that were good....that one was the best. I typically hold my cool pretty well when one of my fisherman hooks a nice fish---but I LOST it when this one took. Brian My Youtube Channel
Nortrad Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 The picture is worth...you know the rest. Hoping to get to the N. Fork again, eventually. A real nice brown, good work Brian.
