Members brianetz1 Posted April 24, 2010 Members Posted April 24, 2010 I'm looking for a good report on what is going on in the Kings River/Shell Knob area. I will be down there on the 28th for my yearly trip with my dad. Love to fish, but don't have a boat so renting fishing boats so we have to stay in that area. Love to fish topwater, will we be looking at being able to do that next weekend? Will fish still be on beds or moving off? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
rps Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Lots of posts in the last week on topwaters and bed fish. Don't expect that much change by the 28th. Hope you enjoy the trip.
arsenal1477 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Same here. My dad and I have come down every year towards the end of April the last 28 yrs and we are heading down on Tues. There is a huge cold front blowing through this week, but I took a look at the forecast for next week and if it goes unchanged it will be the same weather pattern they have had the last month or so(minus this week). Like Rps is saying, I wouldnt imagine that anything would change. According to these guys fishing has been off the charts..im thinking that with all the wacky weather this week it may even turn things on more the closer we get to the full moon(if thats even possible). Seems to me that they are hitting everything, everywhere according to all these posts. One person kills the bass on a smoke grub one day, while another kills them on a spook the next, while another kills them on a redfin. I think the next few weeks are only going to get better and while bass may be on the beds, not even 1/4 of the total bass population is(which leaves a lot of fun, active bass to be caught). Other than not throwing a line in the water, I dont see how you can go wrong right now. Im absolutely pumped to get down there and get into them with all of you guys. Good luck on your trip next week, Cheers.
Members brianetz1 Posted April 27, 2010 Author Members Posted April 27, 2010 has anything changed since the storm rolled through? Did they move back off the beds or still hitting in the 3-7 foot range. and any word on the storms they are predicting for the weekend? Doesn't look like anything is sitting out west ready to move in.
