Yes it was bad. My brother and I were on the lake trying to run back to Aunts creek from Piney to make the weigh in.

Felt like we were smack in the middle of a tornado, luckly we found a dock to weather it out for a while.

We had rain all day, but that last bit was a little much.

News last night said it was a tornando!

We got hit over here in Ridgedale and in Blue Eye with over 70 MPH winds, with Damage in Blue Eye, took out a Morton Building and Kimberling City, alot of tree damage.. Had to be a Tornado alot of debris everywhere. Just made it in before this one hit. Seen two boats trying to get across the lake just as it hit, glad it was not me...

With all the money spent on electronics these days ,a smart phone is not a bad investment.real time radar is just one of the benefits.May save you from becoming a water spout. With todays technology the weather shouldnt sneak up on you anymore. You can even check the reports when you are on the lake, was thinking of posting a real time report someday. In any case be CAREFUL out there ,I dont want to hear of anyone getting injured or worse.

The electronics don't always work, either. I have the Sirius Weather Package and all day yesterday, my alarms were going off when a storm or lightning approached. The watch boxes lit up my graph. It worked great all day, but during the last and biggest storm of the day, my system DID NOT set off any alarms, the watch boxes never lit up, and my graph only showed light rain during the storm. Of course with this storm, we did not need any electronics. It was clear to us to "get out of Dodge."

We made it to the State Marina no wake bouys when it started to rain and we made it into a slip just before the major downpour and the hail. We watched the roof panels being blown off of the houseboat dock.

Bottom Line: Use the electronics (GPS, Weather Satellites, etc.) as a guide and DO NOT depend on them to always give you accurate and up-to-date information.

As Redbud says: Be careful out there.

I was in the upper James just above Piney, I have Mycast radar on the cell it works great. Put on the water at 1pm thought rain was done ( that is what I get for thinking) seen clouds and hung in one cut with new dock it is so new it don't even have the bumpers on it yet, but it has gel coat from my new Ranger. When it hit I was heading in to slip and about 1/2 way in down burst hit slamming my boat into side of dock. Well long story short it can be fixed, I seen boats going down and going up in the middle of this storm it was not good. Good news as soon as the rain was gone I caught good fish for about 2hrs. they love a fluke

i too was out the the lake when this went down. i was in three coves to the east of the kimberling bridge. was about to leave, came out of a little pocket and looked up the lake to see this cloud spinning around headed for a dock across the cove and just made it in when the wind started. trees were snaping and it was all we could do too hold the boat. not sure who owne the dock we used but i sure would like o say thanks for being there.

We were in Schooner Creek when that hit. The clouds looked to be circulating to me and even my diehard partner agreed to seek shelter in the docks around the houseboats. I would just as soon not have to do that again :o

I once watched the 51 marina and many of its boats fly overhead. I was in the lee of Keystone dam outside of Tulsa. If things are that bad, tie the boat off and get off the dock to real land. Scary stuff, no doubt.
