Water Temp: 64-66

Air Temp: 61-79 to 59 in P.M.

Wind: All over the place and 0 to 60 mph

Skies: Wait 5 minutes and it will change again

Went out with clients yesterday and what an experience. It was cloudy, it was sunny, it was windy, it was calm, it was raining, it was hailing, it did everything.

We managed about a dozen fish with the biggest being this 4# plus smallmouth. Did not get time to weigh him because I caught him a few minutes before the big storm. We took pictures and raced to the State Marina. You can see the storm rolling in behind me.

Fish were caught on beds with a white tube and the others were caught with a inline spinner, a Zara Spook, and a jerkbait (smallmouth).

Nice fish indeed Joe! It always seems to happen to me down there; I'll get into some nice fish, as a helluva storm/lightning comes rolling in to flush me off the water.

Jason, was going to call you, but trip was with friends and we had no idea what time we were going to come in. The storm then dictated our departure.

It was a BPS White Tender Tube rigged on a dropshot with only 3" between the hook and the 1/4 oz. dropshot sinker. My SECRET way to keep the bait in the bed and piss off the fish at the same time. Don't tell anyone, OK? :=D:

Nice meeting you on the ramp.

My pleasure.

We took out the Purple Heart Vets Friday. My vet never fished before! Had a dozen fish,a couple keepers, and he was even able to boat several smallies. A great day for all.

Been fishing pegged Texas rigged finesse worms similar. 1/8 bullet pegged about an inch from bait. Powder painted the weights w'melon/gr pumpkin. I think the silver weight was spooking a few fish?

Thanks Joe, dont think I want to ride around in that kind of downpour... :heeee: . We will hook up sometime.

When I was out today we were around the Indian Point area and for some reason could not find any bass stuck on the beds. Most were empty cept for a few that would cruise around. Seemed weird to me, but maybe the first wave is finished and waiting for the second. What you guys think?

The cold fronts and storms pushed them out. They will be back when it warms up and don't forget that the full moon is April 28th. If we get both to occur at the same time, look out!
