Members CLINTC Posted April 25, 2010 Members Posted April 25, 2010 We but in a Baxter boat dock went to the first cove on the right and set our jugs. then went to our secret rock self and fished with live shad and caught 1 flat head that weight 2 lbs and the bait was a pound he swallowed it head first nice eating size fish caught 1 keeper rock bass. the fish were moving slow and were not biting so well after that storm my wife was a sleep in the back of the boat and hooked a fish that took her pole in to table rock it happened fast we think it was a carp or good cat but if anyone finds a Shakespeare rod and a red durango spinning reel can i have it back please. give the fish 2 more weeks and it should be great fishing. nothing on the jugs. Predator1 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Hey CLINTC....I got 30 Jugs tied and hooked with 2',4',6' of line on each jug. My cast net is itching to get out of its box too. And well, I got plenty of Limb line and hooks to set. I was planning on hitting that area and stockton real soon. I know some pretty good spots. We caught several pounds last year on Table ROck and Stockton I wish it was legal to set jugs on Fellows Lake. ThaT WOULD BE AWESOME. How far did you set your lines on your jugs. Charles
Members CLINTC Posted April 27, 2010 Author Members Posted April 27, 2010 I set them from 2' to to 25' deep. It depends on what i am trying to catch this time of the year i set deep on drop off rock walls along submerged timber for flatheads. Predator1 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I have not been using weights on mine. Just hook that pretty little bluegill on or a shad and let them start swimming around. I do catch lots of cats when I cut my blue gill into 3 sections(head, center part of body and tail). The hook and the cut-bait usually end up in their throat or stomach. Got to be careful cleaning those.
Members CLINTC Posted April 27, 2010 Author Members Posted April 27, 2010 I don't use any weights or tie them back either i let them free float and fish the same cove and i use them whole mostly i find that cut catches alot of turtles ARMA PREP AND PAINT (FORMALLY!CMC PREP AND PAINT) ARMA COATINGS OF THE OZARKS (417)-725-3873 THANKS CLINT CASE
dwiebenga Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I got 3 channels this weekend on my trotline with live perch. I was surprised. Looking forward to the summer when I can catch more.
