Fishing Buddy Don House Posted April 26, 2010 Fishing Buddy Posted April 26, 2010 Had a great trip out of Moonshine Beach on Sunday, cloudy, cool and windy day, too windy for topwater tried for a half of an hour but just too much wind. But that wind really turned on the grub and blade bite big time on the main lake! Found large groups of Small Mouth out feeding on the flat pea gravel main lake points around mid morning in the 5 to 15 foot range and you had to have your face in the wind and right on the point for the bite. We were using 3/8 ounce War Eagle ColeSlaw Blade(White and Chart) slow rolled just above the moss and the same with a 3/16 to 1/4 ounce dart heads with White Salt and Pepper colored 4" grubs was the ticket... We would get on one point and catch 10 - 15 fish in a row, once we got one to bite it seemed to start a feeding blitz.. Alot of smaller fish at first in the 13 - 15 inch range but the bigger guys really moved in fast.. Best 5 went around 18 pounds all small jaws.. It was just one of those really fun days and even better to find a great pattern with clients. Good Fishing Everyone! Don Capt. Fishing Buddy Don House Posted April 27, 2010 Author Fishing Buddy Posted April 27, 2010 Jason, hope you do well... Also I did forget one thing that Mr. Prey brought to my attention last week as well.. He has found a good number of fish hanging around the big docks in deeper water around the DAM area.. He was using Flukes (All White) and was allowing these guys to sink about 3-4 feet then jerking them around those docks and doing well.. Need High Sunny sky's for this to work but it does.. All sizes of fish that we caught from it.. I think Eric talked about this in his post as well.. Thanks Eric!! Good Fishing Everyone.. Don Capt. Tfsh4bass Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Fished the dam area Monday from 2pm-7pm and caught 18 with 7 solid 2.5-3lb keepers all ripping a jerkbait on shallow wind blown pea gravel...both pockets and stretches. Mostly smallmouth but did catch 2 good 3lb blacks. Not a bad little short trip and much needed after working most of the weekend
Members Jed Posted April 27, 2010 Members Posted April 27, 2010 Don great report. This is my first time posting here and want to thank everyone for all of the great information I find here. This weekend took the Kickback Jr Bassclub out to table rock for two days of fishing. The Kids with me I took up to the dam area and we just had a great time up there. We caught LM, SM, and K's up there. We concentrated on Flat mainlake points with chunk rock using spotremovers and 4" and 6" finesse worms. All of the fish were holding just outside the moss lines on these points and once you found that line we would just hammer them for about 20 minutes. Go to the next point and do the same. Never caught anything over 3.5lbs but several nice smalls that were 2.5 to 3 and the kids just loved it. Thought I would let you guys know that pattern is working up there as well. We saw some spawners in coves but never spent much time on them as the kids wanted the fast action on the main lake. Uncle Jed.

That's sssooo great when you can get some kids out to fish and really get into them. Especially fish of those sizes. That had to be a hoot!
