thanks... so does this mean as i'm trolling along that I should use a lure that literally skates the top of the water, or just one that dives shallow... like 3-5 feet.

Hello T4W! Been a while.

What I meant was what I do to catch fish this time of year. I go out before dawn and fish a topwater until the sun is full on the water. For you and trolling, this would mean trolling a floating rapala type bait down to 2 to 4 feet and using the boat to hit places where points stick out towards the channel. If I were doing this, I would use planer boards to get the bait out of the path of the boat. BTW, people use this method during dark to catch huge walleyes.

Seems like I remember hooking several quality fish in this lake close to shore.When the water is up, especially during the spring ,there are for sure, fish up in the brush.Sometimes a trickworm on a bare 5/0 hook is deadly in and around any wood that is lying on shore reaching into the water.Areas between floating docks and shore even under walkways have also produced some nice fish. There are lots of ways to trick the bass on Table Rock ,no exact science here.The best depth is the one where the fish are.Conditions change constantly.If you like to fish shallow ,go in there and take a look ,you'll be able to see some action if they are in there. Great post. I will be coming down May 17 to try out my new redfins and spooks. A few weeks ago I had some luck at TR on a blue and silver floating crank fished very slowly like a wake bait. You guys are so right on what works in different lakes. I had some luck at Truman the other day as it is relatively close to me but TR is my favorite by far! I am not in the 20 bass a day group but I am working at it and learning more every trip. I am going to have to set the alarm quite early this trip!
