I fished Fellows Lake today, Lots of boats on an overcast day. Took me a while to figure out what to catch them on. Was throwing a crank bait and missed several fish that slashed at the bait but didn't eat it. Switched over to a spinner bait for a slower action with big blades. Caught about 6 fisht that were about 1.5 pounds. Nothing real big but fish felt real stong. Fished a bit with a jig, which I could do all day, but only got one. Had to go back to the spinner bait. Anyone else doing anything different for bass? Replies are apprieciated.

I was there from 10 to 12:30 to day. I had 10 in the 12 to 14 in. range. Came on points half way back with rock.all on pig&jigs. One muskie about 12in. on a stick bait. Did see some Crappie being caught at pump in cove.

I fished there the 23rd of April and fishing definitely wasn't what I thought it would be... I fished there about the same time last year and tore them up on the jig, had 6 fish over 15" in about an hour and a half then had to leave...So I went on April 23rd thinking about the same thing. They wouldn't touch my jig. Fished cuts, points, and coves rocky banks and didn't get touched. Before I tried the jig I was at the giant flats, with cloud cover and wind, throwing both a spook and redfin and also could not catch a fish. Had a couple whites follow it back to the boat but wouldn't take. Finally got on a couple fish. They all came on the spinnerbait. Just throwing against steeper rocky banks caught only 6 bass and one big ol white bass. None of the largemouth were keepers. All in all not the greatest day even with the cloud cover and chop on the water, but the fish I did manage to catch came on the blade.

Set the hook first, ask questions later...

Fished Fellows again today. Faught the wind the majority of the morning, threw a spinner bait early but nothing. Threw a crank bait, and nothing. Switched over to a jig and caught 2 14 inchers. One came when I was on the cell phone, picked it up and bam fish on. Maybe I wasn't letting it sit long enough. Wind beat me off the lake by 1 pm. Good luck to all.
