I have been fishing all my life and hope that I have climbed up the rank to be a novice. I am in interesed in fishing the lower taney neer forsyth above the power site dam and may motor all the way to rockaway beach and float/troll my way back. I like to fish for bass. Will I be wasting my time by doing this, and/or should go some place else. I don't mind catching trout, but Bass fishing is my passion. Help would be appeciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Not a waste of time. Generally I fish Taney in the summer and the lower end can be good for bass. My best results have come from fishing boat docks with a jig, TX rigged 7" worm, jerkbait, or senko. I have also caught a number of fish around the vegetation that comes up in a couple of areas. Mostly throwing a buzzbait or other topwater in the open lanes through the veg.

I have written a ton of reports on Lower Taney Bass. It is probably the only species which hasn't been drastically affected by the 08' floods. Take a look at some of the OAF archives. It will help you.
