Randall Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I grew up in Cuba and my mom still lives there and I don't even go the Meramec any more. I've had good days there but a lot more crappy ones. Unless the Current is way low, I prefer it hands down over the Meramec. When the water's all real low, I just go to a tailwater. Cute animals taste better.
3wt Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I see what you mean there. A day trip for me on the Current means getting up at 3 A.M if I want to hit the prime early morning fishing, and getting back at about 11:30 P.M after I've fished the evening rise. It's worth it, and I do it often, but it does kinda wear on me when I do it a couple weekends in a row. I almost drove off the road driving back exhausted once. Driving a few hours dead tired and in the dark is not the coolest.
