Hotdawg Guide Service Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 The bite from the big walleye's is finally started on the lower lake!! I caught this one Sunday afternoon in 26 feet of water on a nightcrawler dragging the bottom in 26 feet of water. We caught 17 more with 5 keepers and six other species of fish caught in a half day of fishing. The lake level is rising due to heavy rain this morning and more predicted all this week the bite for all species is really getting strong and should last now for at least a month and a half or more. Members raise the motor Posted May 12, 2010 Members Posted May 12, 2010 Nice fish. What was its length. What is the BS walleye record and could it be broken in the next few years. Joe "God always gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him." Otto Davis
Mike Worley Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Great wally Hotdawg, I'll bet those customers will be back for a full day next time.
mrgungho Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Nice fish. What was its length. What is the BS walleye record and could it be broken in the next few years. Joe The current BS record Walleye is actually the Missouri State record and it was a 21.1 pounder. Records are made to be broken, and I am confident that it could be broken in the next few years. The amount of folks fishing specifically for Walleye on Bull Shoals is only going to increase, hence the chances for a new record will increase as well. Walleye were introduced to these lakes in the late 40's and the record was caught in 1988 so I would say we are due up for a new record!!! Martin Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Not to nit-pic mrgungho, but the lakes weren't here in the late 40's.....But, they are lakes here now and more walleyes then ever before, so.......go catch that record !!
taxidermist Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Other than state record fish, there are no records kept for fish size on Corp or Eng. impoundments.

Joe 29 1/2 inches I believe that we can break the world record on our lake especially if they would stop spearfishing! Hot Dawg Guide Service

Actually they were started before world war 2 and then stopped and started in 1946 and completed in 1952 so technically they were here. Hot Dawg Guide Service
