straw hat Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Well the wife and I went to a different spot today to see if we could find some bigger crappie or some cats. This was a chunk rock bank not too far from CC. We fished for 7 hours and not one cat bite. I really don't understand. That has always been a good spot for us this time of year. As far as the crappie? Well, same as before. We caught about 50 crappie and only one keeper. They were running 7 to 12 feet deep in 15 foot of water. The water at CC was still very dingy with about 4 to 6" of visibility. Oh well, we were in the shade of a tree, out of the wind and it was very relaxing. See you guys on the lake!
nitro96 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Took the wife, put in at mutton creek ran to sons. Water stained maybe 18in.65deg. Lots of Crappie bits couldn't get hooked up, the ones I did get a hook in where good ones. 2 walleye shorts, 4 lb. Bass all on 1/8oz. Roadrunner. Brush pile on creek swing. 8 to 14 ft. Went back to mutton all the way to back and bass fished,they just picked my jig trailer up and ran.1/2 oz. Jig zoom chunk the bits came out in front of brush. 9ft. And less. Darrin
Hunter75 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 fished Son's Creek Friday from 10 am untill 4 pm, caught about 25 crappie, all in less than 6 feet of water right up on the bank, only threw back 10, the other 15 were all 11 inches plus. Caught them all on minnows rigged about three feet below the bobber. Got into a school of big gills, kept a few of them too.

Pea gravel, chunk rock...? mostly chunk rock, the water was way up in the brush and you had to literally drop the minnow right in some brush to get a strike, once the wind drifted it out into open water the only thing that would bite was the gills.
