Hi! Can anyone recommend a boat rental outfit that is near Ha Ha Tonka state park area on the Niangua arm? I vaguely remember seeing something there about 16 odd years ago.

Also, any tips and advice on bass, white bass, or crappy fishing in that area over the next week or so would be great. (FYI, anything my son and I catch goes right back in the lake after a picture or two..)

Thanks!

Dont know about rentals either but have fished that area many times. Before sunrise and after sunset, topwaters. I prefer poppers or spooks if its calm. Jerkbaits aren't bad either. During the day, it's hard to beat a plastic worm under the docks and along bluffs, but fishing is usually slow. I either use 4 or 7 inchers. Evenings, spinnerbaits and plastic worms. At night, spinner baits and dark green or purple and black 10-11" worms. I've probably caught more bass on those big worms there than anything else.

I also find that senkos work just about anytime of the day. I love fishing them along bluffs and steep banks. Haven't tried them at night though. Probably should but platic worms have always been so reliable.

There is a little place we used to stay at for our cub touneys near there (right where the little Niangua breaks off) called Notty Pine Resort 800 873 5181 . I know they rent some 16 foot Lowe V bottom boats. Nice little place and some good folks running it. They also have a gas pump there. We've always caught a lot of fish there around the junction of the little and big Niangua. White Spinnerbaits are a favorite.

Hope that helps.
