DChance Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 anybody able to fish over the holiday weekend? are the bass moving out a little with the water going down?
Jbrant Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Ran over there yesterday afternoon to prefish for a tourney next weekend. Didn't fish very long (lake was crowded) but caugt some fish up in the bushes on texas rigs and topwaters both. Fished a little bit in deeper water - but didn't catch much. Anybody know how fast they are planning to drop the lake?
Trav Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 If history is the judge...they wont be dropping the lake until Truman goes down at least another five feet. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
shockley32 Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 They have been running 2800 cfs for about a week now, they started last Wednesday. The lake is dropping approximately 1/2 a foot each day. We are currently 9.8 feet high. If they continue on this pace the lake will be normal in about two weeks. That is, of course, dependent upon no more rain and the same rate of withdraw. I can live with water 5-6' high but man this 10+ stuff is killing me!!!! Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
conman Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 We did pretty good Fri evening up in the bushes with shakey heads. Got a couple of very nice fish. Sat and Sunday got pretty tough, we caught fish but the numbers were low and they were mostly all shorts. We were fishing mostly plastics but got on some spinnerbait fish too. We have not been able to get on a topwater bite at all this year. Anyone who has I would appreciate your help. Chris

Were you on the main lake of back in a creek or cove? I'm having a hard time deciding where to start this weekend.
Members knuck Posted June 2, 2010 Members Posted June 2, 2010 I could use conman's post as my own! We had 4 boats, 8 adults and 5 kids in tow. We arrived late Friday so we missed out on the Friday night bite. We all spent most of our time on the channel bends and deeper water due to the fact they are dropping the lake 6 inches a day. We were on the Pommie arm and we all used various soft plastics most of the weekend. Texas rigged 5/16 oz. 7 1/2 " Junebug Culprit curly tail was my weapon of choice. We had some throwing nearly the same thing in a finesse, some throwing chompers with a stand up jig and so on. Predominant colors used were Junebug, watermelon, watermelon red and pumpkinseed. We all caught fish in water from 1 foot to 20 feet. There is just so much submerged cover it is hard to figure out where to start. Between all of us we caught a lot of fish and quite a few keepers but none of us had any heavy fish. Saturday morning I thought the fish of the weekend was hooked but it turned out to be a 22" channel. Good luck Steve in STL
conman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Holy Cow, a Pomme thread that is more than 5 posts long. I love reading all the post in the Table Rock thread and always wish there was a lot more Pomme talk, but I guess that would mean a lot more Pomme pressure too... We fished mostly on the Lindly arm on the main lake points. I was very excited Friday evening getting a 4 and a 5 and had very high hopes for Sat, but we just could not get the big bite. If I make it down again this weekend I think I would throw the spinnerbait alot more than I did as that bite was picking up when we left on Sunday. The other thing I would recommend is having a jig ready when you get to breaks in the flooded trees where you can get up to the bank. Chris
Members FisherCouple Posted June 2, 2010 Members Posted June 2, 2010 My wife and I are arriving on Sunday for a week of camping (Hermitage Park side) and fishing. Have been reading the posts and trying to figure out a pattern for our fishing next week as well. Does everyone believe the fish will be tighter to the banks? or along the bluffs in deeper water or what? Any help like the above comments are welcome and if anyone else is going to be at Pomme next week let us know...maybe we can visit out on the water some... Randy
Jbrant Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 We ended up second in our tournament. 8 of the 13 boats had a limit (little over 10#'s won it). We caught fish all day long (though the bite slowed considerably after lunch). Caught most of our fish in the bushes on the main lake points and flats - all close to deeper water. All of our fish came on plastics - some with a wacky worm and some on brush hogs. We broke 5 fish off on hooksets (I had some knot problems apparently). Would have liked to have caught a couple of those to see how big they were (not saying they were huge, but probably a little better than a lot of the 12" fish we went through).
