This morning at 730am my brother n law went to springfield lake and missed 3 strikes then he caught this HUGE BASS for the Second Day in a row on the BABY BASS ZARA SPOOK. He caught a few smaller ones with no pic's..his cell phone died..sorry bout that...HOWEVER THE POINT IS....You dont need a boat to catch HUGE BASS IN Springfield Lake. He was walking the park side shore when he caught this one.....These Fish are definitely shallow.

I'll have to try top water next time out. I spent last Sun for several hours with no luck on plastics and bobber/worms for perch. Sounds like the bites turned aggressive

thanks for the reports, they are helpful!

hope everyone's releasing those good ones

Your welcome. I am sure he will probably hit it in the morning. That would be cool to do that 3 days in a row.

I wish he would move down here...he would make an excellent Tournament Partner...he has no problem catching BASS.

Headed to Stockton this weekend for all species.

Good Luck and SAFE Fishing.

Very Nice Fish, I fished out at Springfield lake and the water was that same milky greenish hue as in the picture. Shad were popping everywhere. I am embarrassed to say that i did not have a popper or a spook in the arsonal. I threw a buzz bait to no avail. I switched to a jig and stated flipping the banks. Managed to boat 2 fish that were about 2 pounds. Not the best day on the lake but any day on the water is a good day.
