Pretty Poor Fishing

I Fished Springfield lake thursday and again on Sunday. Shad were everywhere. I threw a buzz bait, spook, squarebill, rattle trap, Spinnerbait, crankbait to no avail. I managed to boat one fish on each day on a jig. I have been out to springfield lake and had tremendous days on spinner baits and jigs. I have been having a difficult time this year being anything close to productive. Just wondering if the fishing is bad at the lake or my fishing is bad. Anyone having any luck other than a 1-2 fish here and there.

TRY A STICK BAIT WITH LOTS OF FLASH AND KEEP IT MOVING.IT'S SOMETHING THEY DON'T SEE.

I fished thursnight as well with buzz bait and hula popper. I picked up one fish on a hundred casts. I don't normally fish out there so I may have been in unproductive spots. I picked my one fish up at the park. Need some serious help on this water. Also would like to fish up the river a ways. Any suggestions up there on what to throw?
