Floating from Blue Spring to Bay Creek. Me, Chief and Dylan. Camping overnight two nights. Starting thursday and gettin' off the river saturday sometime to head back to Neosho. 1.76 at the Mountain View gauge now. A little low but, like I said, leaving from Blue Spring. I figure the river will spike a little with the way the forecast looks. Eric, Glory Daze... how about some input! We'll give a report with pics...

1.75 will be fine, I prefer the river closer to 1.5. Did go one time with it at about 1.3 - that involved a bit of dragging. Watch the rain & camp with escape possible as the river can come up fast.

Wife & I did our JF trip a few weeks ago - always jealous when others can get on the river.

Be sure to report back!

KC I'd say 175 will be pretty darn near perfect. When we did our April trip it was around 200-225, and I would have preferred just slightly less flow. We didn't drag once until we were less than a mile above Bay Creek, and we floated all the way from the Prongs. Should be pretty good for you guys. Looks like Eminence is expecting a chance of storms each day for the rest of the week, so it shouldn't drop much more if they get a couple showers now and then. Make sure you guys remember that JF floods extremely quick, so if they're predicting any serious rain while you're there, camp up high or at least near an escape route to high ground. Have fun and I'm totally jealous!

Heading south in a couple of hours. Radar map looks unfriendly this morning! Be keeping my frog togs within reach. Post some pics next week.
