fox_76 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 going to go out for the first night trip of the year tonight, wish me luck, i'm going to try for some cats, i've heard they have been picking up a little bit, i'll be trying a bait that i was turned on to, chicken livers mixed with the powder from some mac and cheese, a little garlic, and a can of sardines. that's why you should wish me luck and i'll let you know how it turns out! fox_76 Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 well the night went ok, not a stringer buster or anything but did manage to trick a couple of smaller channels in. didn't seem to be biting real well. did receive a ton of small bites around 1 to 3 am. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 10, 2006 Root Admin Posted June 10, 2006 What kind of water did you fish? Depth, terrain... fishing from a boat? bank? Fishing these lakes for cats is an untapped resource, just like fishing for carp. Everybody writes about bass fishing- the subject is covered thoroughly but when the bass get tough (like now) there are other fish in the lake!
fox_76 Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 well i fished a cove there @ high point, used to be a pretty deep with small to mid sized rock (4 to 5 inch) bottom. tried from a boat for a little while then banked it for the rest of the evening, got a ton of bites, there were some weeds, and the water was about 10 to 12 feet out in the center, (unless my buddies fish finder is questionable). oh yeah and i fell in first thing launchin' the boat! fox_76 Posted June 13, 2006 Author Posted June 13, 2006 planning on going again tonight, will probably hit a local river/stream, its very upper end of pomme river just outside of bolivar, or might try hittin' up @ high point again,... as always i'll let you know the outcome.
