KCRIVERRAT Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Here's a few pics. Ain't gonna worry about sizes and weights. We know how we did. The numbers of fish we caught were something else. For the record... I owe Dylan $2,000 dollars on bets I made with the little fishing shark. I told him, ol' KC either has to stay home and save some money to pay you or he'd have to give me a break so I can afford to fish with him again! His mom said a new ATV comes ahead of me! I'm in trouble... OK, pics. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS

KCRIVERRAT Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Which part did you float? Looks like a upper float and the water was in good shape. Put in at Blue Spring and took out at Bay Creek. I'm a slow floater and prefer to fish a lot. We struggled to get to where we needed to be on night one. Second night was awesome. Not that the first night wasn't. Like Chief said in his thread, the lightning bug show was beyond words. Next time I'm doing Buck to Rymers. From Rymers to Bay there's some flat water this time of the year. Beautiful bluffs down to Bay Creek. Like Chalk, Bee, and the big bluff that horseshoes from right to left just above Bay. This was my third float on the upper, and man was it special to share a canoe with a friends eleven year old son who can fish lights out. Hell, the kid caught a longear with a minnow net and the fish was bigger than the net! I lost $2,000 in bets to him this weekend. Should've known... he's Chief's boy! Wheatenheimer Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Man, sounds like you guys had a blast! Those are some pretty fish! Thanks for sharing, KC!
Chief Grey Bear Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Hell, the kid caught a longear with a minnow net and the fish was bigger than the net! I lost $2,000 in bets to him this weekend. Should've known... he's Chief's boy! I have to say that was something. It happened at the end of our float. We were at the Bay Creek access. While sitting there wating our turn, Dylan is having a blast swimming and horseing around. As we watch him, he is going under water and coming up for only a quick breath of air and right back down. He finally yells over to us that he is trying to catch some longears. Ha, good luck. A minute later he surfaces and yells, "I touched one!". He then come over and to us and grabs a minnow dip net. He says he is gonna get one. As he takes off running through the water KC yells, "I'll bet you a thousand dollars you can't." Luckily Dylan didn't hear him. Within just a few minutes, here he comes running with a longear that is as big or bigger than the little dip net. Ahh the memories. Buzz Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Those are some great looking fish guys. If there ever was a kid who could catch a fish with a dip net it would be Dylan. I would never bet against him. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
fishinSWMO Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Great pictures, thanks. Sounds like Dylan had an awsome time. Jeremy Dodson
GloryDaze Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Great pics KC and glad you guys had such a great time! I remember the first time we did that section we went all the way down to Alley, that will never happen again. Once you leave the river valley it really widens up and becomes very shallow with not too many holes to even find fish. Sounds like you had more luck on the JF then I did on the Current this weekend- I didn't catch too many, but any time on the water with my dad sure beats working. If the water level is right, you should really consider putting in at the Prongs. The first few miles are not great but after that... WATCH OUT- the area is not fished as hard and there are some absolutely beautiful spots. I'm sure I'll be heading that way in the fall for my annual trip. Problem is, by the time we go the water is usually pretty cold and thie fishing slows down a bit. Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
