Members MST SigEp Posted June 22, 2010 Members Posted June 22, 2010 I was wondering if anyone had any info on the closest streams to the Fulton area that produce trout. Wild or stocked isn't really a big deal. I haven't really seen much up here and don't want to have to drive down to where I normally fish when at school. Summer really stinks when I'm out of school...
Outside Bend Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Closest bet would be Meramec or some of the small wild trout streams around Rolla. Really that's about it. There's some pretty good warmwater fishing around there, though. Smallmouth, largemouth, white bass, carp, and all sorts of panfish. <{{{><
Gavin Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Sorry, but there isnt any nearby trout fishing...might try a bit of warm water fishing on the Maries and Tavern Creek...Have fun.
Justin Spencer Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 The North Fork is a ways from you, but if you want to come catch some wild trout, you can stay here at Sunburst Ranch with a fellow SigEp as an owner. Members MST SigEp Posted June 23, 2010 Author Members Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks for the help guys it just stinks that what I feared is true. I guess that I'll have to settle for the summer unless I can make my way down to Rolla again this summer.
Members ChadO Posted July 20, 2010 Members Posted July 20, 2010 The Maries is a blast for Bass (all kinds) as well as panfish. It is a fun stream, quiet and the people are pretty friendly. The fishing is really good, and the water is very wadable, as well as easily accessed from a lot of locations. It isn't trout, but stills rocks. The upper is clear and the lower is off color and deeper. A lot of fun. Don't be too bummed out. School will start again soon, but then you have less time to fish.
