rcguy Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Sorry, I had a senior moment! SUNDAY the 29TH. Lunch at 12:00
jjtroutbum Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 So I am going to try and do my best to get down for the shin dig. Anyone have any camping spots reserved? Figured some might want to meet for beverages, fly tying, fish stories, whatever, one night. rcguy Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Just to recap this ordeal. The Get together will be AUGUST 29TH SUNDAY and 30TH MONDAY. WE WILL MEET Sunday the 29th AT 12:00 AT THE BENNETT SPRINGS DINING LODGE (just behind the store) for lunch and general fishing talk and lying. We can meet for dinner late that night if people want to. Looking forward to seeing you guys and meeting some new folks. JJ, I was planning on staying at Sand Springs but I could tent it if it's not 90 degrees at night. I am so ready to fish!!!!
Trout Commander Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Looks like I will be able to make it the 28th and 29th. If anyone else will be there Saturday as well let me know! It's up in the air as to whether the wife will be along or not so I don't know if I will be hotelling it or camping. I seriously doubt she will be able to find enough stuff to do to keep her occupied while I fish and bullshit but she says she'd like to come along for the ride. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

If the weather does not break she might want to be in the water. Need any loaner gear speak up someone might have extra. Heck bet she is more careful with her gear than I am ... Need any loaner gear speak up someone might have extra. Heck bet she is more careful with her gear than I am ... Believe you me, if i could get her anywhere closer to the water than dropping me off at Taney before she heads to the Landing I would've spent whatever amount of money on her gear and be using a cane pole myself if that was what it took. She's having nothing to do with any sort of fishing though. I couldn't even peak her interest in the shiny pink fly rods when we were shopping for the TFO I just bought. I keep on bugging her to try it and I did find out that my Sci. Ang. rod will be replaced for $15 under warranty so after it gets back I can use the old well I've got two rods it won't cost any money for you to try it and might get a little further on her. Until then I'm flying solo I suppose. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
NoLuck Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 JJ I have a spot reserved in CG #4. But it is pretty small. I hope my brother don't have to park his car at the showers. But I'm only about 150yds from the showers if he does.If somebody gets there and camps starting early friday morning CG #5 has some good size spots. I sure hope it cools down some before then though. I am wore out from working in this stuff. I have been inside at a plant that is nearly 125 deg for the last week. Depending on what is going on this weekend I may hit Bennett for a day or 2.
