Trip Report For 7/3

Well the wife and I expected a lot of PWC and skiers so we decided to just camp out on the bank today. Fished from 8 AM to 3 PM. We fished the same spot where I caught the crappie on Wednesday but I guess they must have went to town to watch fireworks. Only caught a few small ones. Luckily the cats were still there. We came back with 8 channels (the biggest 6.5 lbs)and 1 flathead. We also caught one keeper walleye on fresh cut bait! All were caught from 7 to 10 feet. Most were females full of eggs. Only one female had already spawned. Last but not least I must confess that my wife caught 7 of the 8 channels. It is bad enough that she usually out fishes me for crappie but now she is putting it to me on cats as well. Oh well, it sure is fun to watch her have a balst out there. See you all on the water.
