I have had the opportunity to fish some pretty awesome ponds lately here in NE Oklahoma. Catching a lot of fish on the usual lures.. Spinner baits, worms, shallow running lures and the sort. I forgot how much fun I could have fishing some of those out of the way waters. Just wonderin, what are some of your favorite lures/setups that you like to fish ponds with?

For many years I fished Oklahoma ponds from a tube. I especially liked buzz baits in ponds with fallen wood. In ponds with willows in the water, I would skip unweighted large worm under the leaves into the flooded trunks.

I've been enjoying hitting some neighborhood ponds in the Owasso area. I've been catching a few small bass and lots of blue gill and sunfish. I've been using the fly rod and using small poppers, size 12 Elk Hair Caddis and Predators. Just having a blast.

Wow! it's been a while since I've been on. Hope everyone is doing well. Anywho, I have had lots of luck as of late on a small booya spinnerbait...... I have become a spinner bait nut now.... Been having a lot of fun figuring out the fish again, having a little bit of a hard time finding that "honey hole' but I have sure been fortunate enough to fish some pretty fun little ponds.

I have had better luck on ponds with a white 1/16oz Rooster Tail. I throw it on 4# test Vicious Panfish line in the dark green color on an UL spinning rod. I have caught the biggest largemouth of my life on it (3.5# or so, 21" long). This was many years ago though. I have also had good luck throwing a Rapala F05 in silver in ponds on the same tackle setup and have caught bass to 2# on it.
