Alright I'm throwing this out there because I'm not 100% sure how to handle this situation that occured today. I was wade fishing today on Upper Tanneycomo,I had been in the same spot for about 3 hours or so through the rain and all. Well about the time I start really catching some fish and the rain quit I'm suddenly crowded by three older gentlemen and I do mean crowed, two of them crammed right in on the left of me and the third to the right of me, close enough they kept tangling thereselves along with me. I ended up just leaving as I couldn't take it anymore. What's the best way to handle this? I found it quite rude and irrating as did the other gentlemen who was fishing across from me. Is it best to say something or just leave? I understand that when they are running water there are limited places to wade, but is it really right to just crowd in like that?

Thanks,

Brad

Unfortunately a loose/loose situation for you. If you point out their lack of courtesy towards you, they will think you are wrong, and being ignorant towards them for wanting their spot.

The same type that anchor in a narrow channel, then complain because others go too close to their boat.

As the phrase coined by a St Louis talk radio host many years ago goes, "You can't fix stupid!"

DON'T FISH IN THE OUTLETS......

DON'T FISH AT TANEYCOMO OR ANY OF THE TROUT PARKS...

IGNORE THEM --- OUT FISH THEM

I LIKE TO HIT THEM WITH MY FLYLINE ON SOME WILD CASTS AND FAUX HOOK SETS

THEN IF ALL ELSE FAILS -- REPOSITION TO RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM OR IF THE RUN IS SHALLOW --WALK BACK AND FORTH THRU IT AND THEN LEAVE

HEY BUT I CAN BE AN AHOLE

That would just teach them the Taneycomo Shuffle!

Possible but that assuming they have the ability to learn.

I could always sit on the bank and toss in rocks every so often

I don't know where you were but if it was in an outlet and the water was running, you can expect it, basically.

There are limited places to fish when the water is running - not an ideal situation at all. If you have a good spot near an outlet to yourself for a lengthy period of time, consider yourself fortunate . . . enjoy while you can because anglers will move in because there's no place else to stand and fish. When the water is running, expect someone to come and stand close to you - that's basically the way it is at the outlets.

But I could be way off in your situation. You may be fishing a different area in which case this may not apply - or it may.
