flytyer57 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Can anyone around the yellville area confirm how the water looks on crooked? I live in Mountan Home and I don't even have to drive over to Yellville to tell you how the water looks. It's high and running fast and looks like chocolate milk. Check the USGS Gage for Crooked Creek here. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Members waterback Posted July 13, 2010 Author Members Posted July 13, 2010 Thanks brother...any idea where I could find a non chocolate milk river today or tomorrow?
flytyer57 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Thanks brother...any idea where I could find a non chocolate milk river today or tomorrow? Check the generation schedules for the White River. The dams hold back all that rain water and they don't usually get all muddy below the dams. Just be careful of the currents. Anything over 400 Cf's I would not wade in without extreme caution. The Southwest Power Administration website has the schedules. Be very careful here too. They do not always follow that schedule. You can call them to find out what they are generating now at 870-431-5311 There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 No rivers are running clear with all the rain. The white will be the only clear spot, and only then above crooked creek. Norfork will be clear too. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members waterback Posted July 18, 2010 Author Members Posted July 18, 2010 Thanks guys! What are your thoughts on the fishability of crooked today? I gotta get to the water
gotmuddy Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 crooked creek is still sort of high but fishable. Tomorrow flytyer57 and I are floating from snow to the slab. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
flytyer57 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Thanks guys! What are your thoughts on the fishability of crooked today? I gotta get to the water Yesterday, at the mouth of Crooked Creek the water was a little cloudy but not stained. Should be good to go for ya. Fishing wasn't too good from anyone I saw all day, but night time brought em out. Caught about 90% of the my fish from 8 to 9. I'll be dropping in the slab tomorrow so maybe I'll see you guys around
