Members budge Posted June 15, 2006 Members Posted June 15, 2006 Just learning this stretch of the river. I learned real quick not to go on the week ends. I like to fish for goggs and have found Niangua specimens to be both healthy and good sized. Cath most on small spinner baits. I do not seem to have much success with smallies on this stretch, any advice would be appreciated as I like to keep busy waiting for the goggle-eye's evening bite.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 15, 2006 Root Admin Posted June 15, 2006 How was the water level? Good for floating?
Members budge Posted June 15, 2006 Author Members Posted June 15, 2006 Water level is great for floating. Weekend traffic is to heavy to enyoy fishing, but through the week it is peaceful.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 15, 2006 Root Admin Posted June 15, 2006 It must have some hefty springs feeding it because we haven't had much rain.
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Barclay is below Bennett and Sand springs. There is also a spring at Barclay. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members budge Posted June 28, 2006 Author Members Posted June 28, 2006 To the angler that gave me info on smallmouth on the Niangua and wanted a report for this coming weekend. Sorry, I'm new at manulipulating these site tools and accidentally erased your message. We were using 1/8 ounce spinner baits for the better fish. Nickel blade with no skirt and power grup added. I used the Strike King mini with less success the next time I went, but that could have been due to the conditions that particular day.
