Fish Bork Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Wanting to do a nice two day float. I'm not looking for trout just maybe some smallies (to release) and some nice Ozark Bass or Panfish to fry up for dinner on the river. I'm also considering the Jacks Fork and wondering if it has enough water in it now, the Buck Hollow to Eminence looks like a fun float. Going at the beginning of next week. Thanks for the info Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Fish Bork Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 Also what outfitters would you recommend. Thanks Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Gavin Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I'd try Round Spring to Two Rivers on the Current its about 21 miles but you'll have some jet boats to contend with...If you want a shorter float, and no boats.. I'd float Pulltite to Round Spring 11 miles. Carr's Canoe should be able to set you up with a haul up to Pulltite, or a car spot down at Two Rivers. The Jack's is looking kinda low at Buck Hollow (66cfs) and Alley (119 cfs)right know...Youll be draggin alot if you head down there. Cheers.

I dont like messin with the jet boats so I would stay above Round Spring. For me a 2 day float is 7 - 15 mile max that gives plenty of time to fish set up cam and not have to hurry at all. So like Gavin said pulltite to round is a good one. This fri sat and sun me and 8 or so guys will be floating akers to round. 3 days to do 20 some odd miles. They are called float trips for a reason! PS Good to see Gavin postin again I thought you might have been traded to Russia for a spy to be named later...
Gavin Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks for your concern, LOL! I've been busy at work and on the river for the past 4 weekends in a row (Huzzah, Current, Meramec, & 11pt). Not going anywhere this weekend, and I'm looking forward to it. Hope you guys have a great trip.
Al Agnew Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Fishing is usually better on the Round Spring to Two Rivers float, rather than the Akers to Round Spring stretch. You will encounter a few jetboats, but if doing during the week they shouldn't be too bad. I was on the Current below Powdermill this past Monday, and encountered about seven or eight jetboats. Not too obnoxious. (I was in my jetboat, but I ran it from Logyard to Blue Spring to begin with and then never started the motor again until I loaded it back on the trailer at the end of the day. Only one other jetboat went boat-riding by me multiple times, the rest of them were heading somewhere and not just joy-riding.)
Outside Bend Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 If you're not wedded to the Current, you may also want to look into the Big Piney... Either way, have a great time. <{{{><
