Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Just had a thought. Has anyone ever tried a fly swap? Are there any interested? Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
timsfly Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Lets do it, it should be fun. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Okay. Here's what I was thinking. This is only my second swap so I'm new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking we could limit it to 25 tyers. Each tyer could tie their favorite fly; no duplications please. Set a time limit to turn the fly's in. Not too short of a time, but not too long as well. I'd be willing to host the swap so the fly's could be sent to me and then I'd mail them out to the participants. Or, if anyone else is interested in hosting, that would be okay as well. Have I missed anything? Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
timsfly Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 just let us know what to do, I've never been in a swap, just tell us what to do, I'm sure there are plenty of tiers out there willing and able. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 The first step is to get a list going of the tyer's and their fly's. Once you have your fly's done; you then tag them and mail them to the host. Once all the fly's are in, the host mails them to the participants. As for the tag; I've used a business card, or something similiar, and attached the fly to it, with a description and the tyer's name. I'll start things off with the fly list. 1. John Jackson - Squirrel Zonker I'll keep the master list and update everyone as it grows. Once we have 25 tyer's the list will be closed. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
