Hunter91 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Was at the lake last weekend and caught several medium sized whites about 20ft deep with a spoon. Has anyone seen and schooling yet?
Thunderin Gobbler Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Been seeing a little around Cedar Ridge. I was up there last Thursday bass fishing and saw probably 4 or 5 decent sized schools surfacing.
straw hat Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I was at CC about 10 days ago. A lot of shad sufacing with fish blowing up on them. I met one fisherman and he had 6 whites that he said he had caught on these blow ups. I don't know what it is worth but I thought I would pass it along.
dennis boatman Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Fished near Ruark Bluff and saw some topwater action. Not sure if they were whites. Threw a topwater in the mix, had a few hits but no hookups. CAUGHT ONE WALLEYE 15' ON MINNOW! About 13". A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Samkam1 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 A lot of topwater action on points and flats across from Mutton to the west...caught around 100 every time we've been out in the past couple weeks. Fun stuff!!! SK

Predator1 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 When I see them bust the top on them shad...I cast a HUGE WHITE ROOSTER TAIL up in the mix of them. Never fails...they tear it up as soon as it hits the water. It is awesome. I will hit them in the morning hopefully. I am putting in at Greenfield.
Members Leupold Posted July 24, 2010 Members Posted July 24, 2010 Would a Stockton Lake expert share with me when the White Bass are likely to be schooling the best on the surface on the upper half of the lake. Presumably it should be in a couple weeks when surface temps start to drop. Before I went into the service I had spent many many err. too many hours on the Lake. But I am not sure how healthy the lake is with all the time that has passed now that I am back from being overseas. I live Just out of state but want to take my boys out to let them experience the thrill and veracity of schooling white's. I am the most Familiar with the areas near Crab tree cove, Points 2, 12, Jones cove(5 finger)and Price Branch. Thanks

Our prayers are always with you. I usually catch my White Bass in the Creeks off the main lake parts. I usually see lots of shad being chase down by the WHITES. I would say in the creek areas the white bass have an easier time with their victims...usually see tons of shad during this time.
Members Leupold Posted July 25, 2010 Members Posted July 25, 2010 Thanks for recognizing my Service and other Veterans contributions. So....Do you think if I plan a trip for the first week in August that would hit the Peak of schooling? I do subscribe to MDC fishing report and I am attempting to isolate when they will start to school heavy. I tried to find an archive of last years reports for July and August but I was unsuccessful. And now that I am in the Civilian sector I don't have much leave time accumulated so I have to plan time off wisely with the best intel I can acquire.
