Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 17, 2006 Root Admin Posted June 17, 2006 We boated down to see the fountain tonight. We listened to the band- the echo was something else but nice sounding band. Not too loud on the water at least. The fountain went off about 10:45 pm. One song- Star Spangled Banner. On a scale to 1 to 10 I'd give it a 2. For all the hoopla and the millions of dollar spent on this thing - 'only one other of its kind and it's in Las Vegas' fire and water... IT WAS LAME! Waltzing Waters is 100x better. Nice boat ride though I'll give the benefit of the doubt. One of the guys who went with us said may be they are saving the best for... later? Keep you coming back? I sincerely hope there's more or the people of Branson are going to want their money back.
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 What is the free pass they're offering locals? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 17, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted June 17, 2006 To the concert I guess. Is that the one we got in the mail... free gift?
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Yes, I couldn't figure out what they were offering, given the fact they seem to want everyone with money to come, no questions asked. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members Champ Posted June 18, 2006 Members Posted June 18, 2006 Y'all left 15 minutes too early. They ran the fountain with another song after 15 minutes. Every 15 minutes after dark, like they said they would. The other song was better. Eventually they will have 3 more songs programmed in. However, it was a BIG mistake on their part not playing both songs at the same time. Most people did leave before the second song started. Should have at least anounced for everyone to wait.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 18, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted June 18, 2006 We waited for 5 but saw everyone leaving. Every 15 minutes after dark, like they said they would. When did they say this?
Members Champ Posted June 19, 2006 Members Posted June 19, 2006 I just read that in the paper. Every 45 min. during the day and every 15 min after dark. The article also mentioned they have 2 songs choreographed and 3 more will be done later. About 90% of the people left after the first song. They should have played both at the same time to make sure everyone got the full effect. Oh, well. The band was good and I had fun. I'm sure they'll only get better. I hope they have more bands down there in the future.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 19, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted June 19, 2006 It looked cool from the lake- seeing the band and crowd. Haven't seen the area from land yet. How was parking and getting out? Someone said at church yesterday they wish the designers didn't make the lakefront look like a back alley like they did. Was refering to the back of the retail shops. It is not that pretty from the water.
Members Champ Posted June 19, 2006 Members Posted June 19, 2006 We got down there around 8:30 pm and parked in BP lot. Quite a bit of space yet. My buddy came around 10pm and had trouble finding parking. Took 76 home right after the second water song and no traffic problems. Down again for lunch Sat. and parked around belks. Place was busy. I agree with you on the lake side. I'm hoping with Crab shack, other restraunts, landscaping, and docks, the place will be more inviting from the lake side. I'm anxious to see water show/etc. from the lake side.
Members jsharp Posted June 19, 2006 Members Posted June 19, 2006 So is there going to be a big show at the landing on the 4th has anyone heard?
